OVERVIEW

Perkins Coie represents public and private companies in a full range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including strategic acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts and going private transactions. With nearly 100 M&A attorneys, we have the depth and resources to manage the most demanding transactions.

We are active in a variety of industry segments, including life sciences, wireless, telecom, Internet, software, media, hotels, real estate investment trusts (REITs), retail, energy and manufacturing.

Our M&A team draws upon Perkins Coie's extensive subject matter resources to assist our clients with related needs such as securities, antitrust, labor and employment, executive compensation, environmental regulation, intellectual property rights, and federal and state taxation. We work together as an integrated team to provide seamless service and solutions tailored specifically for our client’s needs.

We are committed to knowing not only the law, but also the business of each of our clients, which ensures we have a keen understanding of the “DNA” of each deal.

This deep level of commitment enables us to conduct rigorous due diligence on companies our clients target, thus mitigating risks and allowing us to creatively solve challenging transactional issues.

We also regularly lead M&A transactions that involve target companies with operations outside the United States. Whether taking the overall lead or providing context and support to local counsel who may be in the best position to lead a transaction, we combine international reach with extensive experience in local laws and business practices to provide value-added service on complex, multi-jurisdictional M&A engagements. We also regularly represent overseas companies seeking to acquire companies in U.S. markets. We assist them in complying with federal, state and local laws, and treaties to which the United States is a party.
