NEW YORK (May 19, 2023)—A Perkins Coie legal team obtained a federal court order for client Patagon Management, LLC that upheld a prior temporary restraining order enjoining a pseudonymous defendant from accessing $35 million in crypto assets. The Perkins Coie team also successfully obtained an order permitting service on the defendant via non-fungible token (NFT), through the Discord social media platform, and via email.

The case focuses on claims brought by Patagon Management, LLC against a pseudonymous defendant and founder of “SpartacusDAO”, a purported decentralized reserve currency protocol on the Fantom blockchain network. Patagon’s claims relate to defendant’s sale of “SPA” tokens and alleged misuse of the related funds.

The Perkins Coie legal team that succeeded in securing the injunction order against SpartacusDAO for Patagon Management, a proprietary crypto trading firm, includes partners John Hardin, counsel Emily Cooper, and associates Will Conley, Gabriella Romanos Abi Habib, and  Hellen Park.
