Madeline Swan practices complex commercial litigation, focusing on the intersection of law, business, and innovative technologies. She has litigated various cases from pretrial motions practice and discovery through appeal in both state and federal courts.

Madeline represents a range of clients across multiple industries, from major telecommunications, retail, and aviation companies to leading technology and healthcare firms. Her experience covers a range of legal issues, including antitrust and unfair competition, intellectual property, and product liability matters. She has extensive experience in all stages of expert discovery, both working with expert witnesses to develop supporting arguments and challenging opposing experts through Daubert motions. In addition, Madeline has provided counsel to her corporate clients regarding California state and federal regulatory compliance.

As an enthusiastic Seattle office liaison to the Perkins Coie Women’s Forum, Madeline is dedicated to furthering the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts by promoting career development opportunities for women attorneys.

Madeline earned her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, where she was a member of The University of Chicago Law Review and recipient of the Donald E. Egan Scholar Award. Madeline also served as an academic counselor and a Kapnick Leadership Development Initiative facilitator.

Prior to law school, Madeline served as a client manager at a patent prosecution law firm in Seattle.
