Overview

Kathleen Wills has experience litigating complex patent cases, mainly within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She has deposed and prepared witnesses throughout fact and expert discovery and prepared witness statements, expert reports, motions, and appellate briefs. Kathleen has second-chaired trademark infringement motions hearings and drafted settlement agreements, consent judgments, and status reports. She has published in the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society, Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property, Texas A&M Journal of Property Law, and 337 Reporter.

Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Kathleen clerked for the Hon. Jimmie V. Reyna of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Before earning her law degree, she served as a law clerk with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and interned with the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and Office of Special Masters.

Kathleen received her J.D. from Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where she was a staff member of the Civil Rights Law Journal and president of the Trial Advocacy Association. She earned her B.S. in neuroscience from George Mason University. After receiving her degree, Kathleen worked in industry as a researcher and protocol coordinator at the National Institutes of Health and published the clinical trial results and analyses in Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, and Journal of Affective Disorders.
