Perkins Coie served as legal advisor to Costco in a deal where the company agreed to buy logistics and delivery services provider Innovel for $1 billion.

With investment in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) on the rise, the industry is growing and moving into more practical applications. But growth is leading to new challenges, including increased worries about legal risks, according to a new survey of startup founders, technology company executives, investors and consultants by global law firm Perkins Coie LLP.

Perkins Coie acted as outside counsel to Outerwall Inc., which delivers kiosk experiences for consumers that generate revenue for retailers, in its definitive merger agreement to be acquired by affiliates of certain funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC (together with its consolidated subsidiaries, "Apollo"), a leading global alternative investment manager, pursuant to which the Apollo Funds will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Outerwall common stock for $52.00 per share in cash.

Perkins Coie has announced that 32 attorneys have been promoted to the firm’s counsel position, effective January 1, 2016.
