SEATTLE (February 24, 2022)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that seven partners and four practices have been ranked by Chambers and Partners, publishers of the 2022 Chambers Global Guide, for exceptional work in the United States and China.

The following partners were recognized by Chambers and Partners:

Carl Frischling, a partner in the Investment Management practice, was named a senior statesperson in recognition of his work with registered investment funds, including investment fund formation, with the development, structuring, and management of mutual funds, and with federal regulatory obligations for independent investment directors and trustees.

T. Markus Funk, co-chair of the firm’s Supply Chain Compliance practice, outgoing chair of the White Collar & Investigations practice, and former federal prosecutor, was recognized for his focus on internal investigations, commercial litigation both at the trial and appellate levels, white collar criminal defense, corporate social responsibility and supply chain compliance, and compliance counseling. Markus was ranked Band 1 for Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations – Colorado and also was included in the rankings for FCPA – USA – Nationwide (a first for an attorney based in Colorado/ Rocky Mountain Region).

Janis Kestenbaum, a partner in the Privacy & Security practice, was recognized for her strength in representing businesses in investigations by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and her work advising companies on privacy and consumer protection issues.

Scott Palmer, managing partner of Perkins Coie’s Beijing office and a partner in the Intellectual Property practice, was recognized as a leader in international intellectual property work, including enforcement, dispute resolution, trademarks, and licensing matters in the People’s Republic of China.

Michael Wise, chair of the firm’s Life Sciences & Healthcare industry group, was recognized for his intellectual property work, including patent portfolio management and complex contested patent matters in the life sciences industry. Michael was recognized for his “Foreign Expertise in China” and “Expertise Based Abroad in China” in the rankings.

The 2022 Chambers Global Guide also ranked the firm in the following four U.S. practice areas: Intellectual Property (Patent), Labor & Employment, Privacy & Data Security, and Technology Sector (International & Cross-Border). In addition, Perkins Coie was ranked in China for Intellectual Property (International Firms).
