DENVER, Colo. (March 6, 2018) - Perkins Coie is proud to announce that T. Markus Funk, Perkins Coie partner and Chair of its White Collar & Investigations practice, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Supply Chain Compliance practice, has been selected by the Burton Awards as a recipient of the 2018 Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award - Law Firm for his article, “Understanding 'Corporate Sentencing'…Or How to Turn an Ounce of Preventative Compliance Into a Pound of Sentencing Cure,” co-written with former Perkins Coie attorney Laura Cramer-Babycz, published on August 18, 2017, by Bloomberg Law in its White Collar Crime Report™.

The longstanding, nonprofit Burton Awards program, which is run in association with the Library of Congress, presented by lead sponsor Law360, and co-sponsored by the American Bar Association, recognizes the finest law firm writers. Winners are chosen from articles submitted by the managing partners of the nation's 1,000 largest law firms. Established in 1999, the Burton Awards reward major achievements in the law, ranging from literary awards to the greatest reform in law. It is funded by the Burton Foundation, a nonprofit, academic and educational organization concentrating on major accomplishments in law. Markus will be honored at an award ceremony celebrating the nineteenth anniversary of the Burton Awards at the Library of Congress on May 21, 2018.

This is the eighth time in the Award’s history that Perkins Coie attorneys have been honored by the Burton Awards. Past award recipients include Robert Bauer, Paul F. Eckstein, Stewart M. Landefeld, William G. Malley, Stephanie M. Regenold, Jerry A. Riedinger, David F. Taylor, James F. Williams and Laura Godfrey Zagar.
