Dan Bagatell and Reese Nguyen were mentioned in the Bloomberg Law* article, "Google, Perkins Coie Get Federal Circuit Argument Reinstated," and the Law360* article, "Diversity Concerns Push Fed. Circ. To Hold Google Oral Args," regarding the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reinstating oral arguments in Google's patent appeal that had been canceled due to COVID-19.

A female associate at Perkins Coie LLP will argue her first case at the Federal Circuit after the firm and its client, Alphabet Inc.'s Google, persuaded the court to reschedule a hearing canceled by the coronavirus. Reese’s May 11 argument, now back on the court’s argument calendar, involves an invention related to powering a virtual or augmented reality device. Google called Reese the “most knowledgeable attorney on the matter." (Bloomberg Law)

Both Google and Perkins Coie have been working to "provide opportunities to promising junior and diverse lawyers in their appellate matters," and the case was set to be argued by Reese, a "highly regarded" associate in the firm's Seattle office, Dan noted. Reese has never previously argued before the Federal Circuit, he said. (Law360)
