Jiamu Sun Senior Associate

Jiamu Sun is a Corporate practice associate who focuses on litigation and arbitration matters before a variety of courts and arbitral institutions in the United States and China. She represents both Chinese and foreign company clients in a variety of cases involving a broad range of issues. including administrative defense cases, collection and enforcement of secured interest rights, internal investigations, and general commercial litigation. Jiamu has special experience concerning data privacy, data security issues, national security, e-commerce, media law issues, and regulatory compliance before the Cyberspace Administration of China. Her experience includes:

• Managed all legal actions of a major U.S. banking group to collect on defaulted loans before Chinese courts.
• Defended a leading global agriculture company in response to government information disclosure allegations.
• Enforced a JAMS arbitration award of a New York-based company before Chinese courts under the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
• Represented a Hawaii-based company in an arbitration before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission involving architectural design contract disputes.
• Represented a U.S.-based company in an arbitration before the Shanghai Arbitration Commission involving contract disputes.

Admitted to the bar in New York and in China, Jiamu has experience working with U.S. law firms in China as well as British Magic Circle law firms based in Beijing. She earned an LL.B. and a B.A. in English from Minzu University of China Law School, an LL.M. from Renmin University and a second LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.
