Overview

Daniel Jackstadt assists companies in every stage of growth with the strategic development of their patent portfolios. He has worked with clients ranging from multinational corporations to midsized companies and startups, including universities and research institutes, and assisted companies through every life stage from incubation through acquisition. Recognizing patents as assets that support business, he works to understand each client’s business goals and to develop an intellectual property (IP) strategy specifically tailored to assist the client with meeting those goals.

Daniel has extensive experience in a wide range of IP-related matters, including domestic and international patent procurement (patent preparation and prosecution), portfolio management, and patent infringement and validity analyses. His practice also includes patent-related due diligence, licensing support, and litigation support.

Utilizing his electrical engineering background, Daniel represents clients in a variety of industries, including computer hardware, semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, image and video processing, medical devices, optics, augmented and virtual reality, telecommunications, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and consumer devices. In the medical device industry, Daniel has particular experience with cardiac and renal energy emitting catheters (e.g., radiofrequency ablation catheters, pulsed field ablation catheters), pulmonary and renal robotic surgical systems, cardiac mapping systems, analyte monitoring systems, patient monitoring systems, wearables, ophthalmic surgical devices, real-time marker tracking, and medical imaging. Daniel also has significant experience counseling clients regarding design patents (protecting the ornamental look and feel of products) and trade secrets.
