Partner Scott Palmer was quoted in "China’s IP Brain Drain: How Exodus of Foreign Lawyers Could Shape Industry," an article in Managing IP*, regarding the mass exodus from China of foreign lawyers and how this is affecting the Chinese IP domain.

Scott highlights that the volume of IP flings by locals in China is significantly higher than those by foreign entities and that there is more IP litigation involving domestic parties than their oversees counterparts.

Palmer also notes that there have been some positive developments recently, such as  punitive damages for IP infringement and a crackdown on bad-faith trademark filing, which came about with as much a push from domestic parties as from foreign stakeholders.
