SEATTLE (September 24, 2019) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm, Intellectual Property Co-Chair Shannon Bloodworth and Intellectual Property Partner David Anstaett have been recognized for their work in the life sciences industry by the LMG Life Sciences Awards, an annual ranking of leading North American law firms and lawyers specializing in the industry.

The firm placed first in the “Hatch-Waxman Impact Cases of the Year” category for representing Mylan in Teva Pharmaceuticals et al v. Sandoz et al. (Fed. Cir. 2018). Shannon was recognized as “Hatch-Waxman Litigator of the Year – Generic,” while David was recognized as the “General Patent Litigator of the Year – Midwest.”

The LMG Life Sciences Awards recognizes companies, firms and individuals driving the international market and participating in the most challenging and innovative life sciences work each year.

Shannon represents pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in complex patent litigation. Her experience includes trying large-scale patent litigation cases relating to pharmaceutical patents and counseling domestic and international pharmaceutical companies in their patent litigation and regulatory strategies. In addition, Shannon has provided guidance on all aspects of the Hatch-Waxman Act and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act.

David represents pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in complex patent and commercial litigation and has argued high-stakes pharmaceutical cases in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He also counsels pharmaceutical companies on regulatory strategies and all aspects of the Hatch-Waxman Act.
