Overview

Reina Almon-Griffin is a litigator with experience representing a broad range of clients in complex and high-stakes litigation. Reina has assisted clients in voting rights litigation, white-collar matters, government investigations, administrative actions, trade secret misappropriation cases, and complex commercial disputes. She has represented individual and organizational clients in state and federal courts at both the appellate and trial court levels.

During her career at Perkins Coie, Reina has had the opportunity to work on secondment with a social media company. While in-house, Reina gained valuable experience assisting the company’s response to an evolving legal landscape in the technology space. Working on multiple fast-paced legal teams, she has become adept at smoothly and quickly transitioning between varying work environments while providing excellent client service. Through engaging with legal and business stakeholders, Reina gained insight into how to best deliver comprehensive yet digestible legal feedback to inform business decisions.

Reina has also worked to expand voting rights and has defended election challenges in lawsuits across the nation, including in California, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, and Washington. During the 2020 election, Reina successfully defended Nevada’s presidential electors who pledged to support President-elect Joe Biden in an election contest. Reina and her colleagues secured a complete victory at trial, with both the trial court and the Nevada Supreme Court roundly rejecting the contestants’ unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud.

Reina also has experience providing guidance related to financial service regulations, laws, and government investigations. She has advised companies wishing to obtain state money transmission licenses, drafted anti-money laundering programs, and assisted companies undergoing government investigations and enforcement actions.

Reina maintains a robust pro bono practice with a focus on civil rights cases and representing indigent criminal defendants. In 2022, Reina and her team secured a public settlement in a First Amendment lawsuit against a rural Washington city, enabling a grassroots civil rights organization to continue fighting for equality. Reina also serves as an associate board member for the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, she served as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Edward F. Shea at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
