The technology sector accounted for 1,657 new cases, or 44% of the total 3,805 patent cases filed in 2022.

Perkins Coie was also ranked among the top four law firms most likely to secure favorable outcomes for patent challengers in 2022 due to the firm’s win rate of 18.4%. According to IAM’s coverage of the report, Perkins Coie is one of only four law firms “that outshine the rest when judged by their patent challenger win rates.”
