SEATTLE (June 10, 2022)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm has again been recognized as a leading law firm in the United States for patent litigation defense and post-grant proceedings by Lex Machina in its annual Patent Litigation Report.

Of the national law firms handling the most patent defense cases, Perkins Coie ranked fourth, with 189 cases across 23 jurisdictions from 2019 to 2021. The firm also ranked as one of the top 10 most active law firms for post-grant proceedings, handling 524 matters since the creation of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Perkins Coie achieved similar placement among the top law firms in both categories last year.

Lex Machina’s Patent Litigation Report summarizes federal district court data from the past decade and post-grant data since the PTAB’s inception in 2012. The report also identifies key patent litigation trends that have emerged in the last year.
