Patchen Haggerty Adds Additional Depth to Firm’s Trademark & Copyright Practice

SEATTLE, Wash. (February 6, 2014) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Patchen Haggerty has joined the Seattle office as a partner in the firm’s Trademark & Copyright practice.  Haggerty was most recently a partner with Dorsey & Whitney in Seattle.

Haggerty manages global trademark portfolios and trademark enforcement programs for market-leading companies, guiding them in the protection, development, commercialization, licensing, assignment and sale of intellectual property rights and assets.  She advises companies in managing the risks associated with registration of new Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and assists clients on complex and strategic legal and business matters relating to trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, domain name, IP due diligence, privacy and Internet security. 

Haggerty regularly handles trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, concurrent use proceedings and trademark application appeals before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  Her trademark enforcement matters include dispute resolution and administrative actions around the world.

Haggerty received her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law (Order of the Barristers) and her B.A. from Purdue University.  Haggerty is ranked as one of the “World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” in the WorldTrademark Review 1000, is recognized as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine and has been ranked in IP law by Chambers USA.  She also maintains an active profile as a presenter and author on emerging issues in trademark, copyright and IP legal protections.
