DALLAS (April 25, 2022)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that partners Jill Louis, Dean Harvey, Ann Marie Painter, and John Hardin were recognized as 2022 Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine.

To be considered as a 2022 Best Lawyer by D Magazine, attorneys must be licensed to practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and be nominated by their peers. Nominated attorneys are then further assessed by D Magazine’s editorial staff and a panel of attorneys representing a range of specialties.

Jill Louis is Perkins Coie’s Dallas office managing partner, a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice, and co-chair of the Infrastructure Development practice. She is also the host of RelevantNOW, an environmental, social, and corporate governance-focused podcast examining the intersection of business and public interest. Jill focuses her practice on advising companies with growth-oriented, liquidity-creating, and transformation-enabling strategies. Her experience includes leading strategic transactions for entrepreneurs, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies, as well as members of the Fortune 50, with an emphasis on the intersection of technology and infrastructure, multilocation retail, transportation, sports, manufacturing, and industrial sector matters.

Dean Harvey serves on the Management Committee of the firm, and he is the co-chair of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Robotics industry group. He counsels innovative companies (including Fortune 100 clients, mid-tier clients, and startups) on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), technology-related commercial transactions, product compliance, and data privacy and security. He has advised clients in AI projects involving issues such as algorithmic bias, fraud detection, disease risk prediction, disease condition prediction, image recognition and identification, pricing optimization, claims editing, robotic process automation (RPA), and e-commerce site optimization. Dean leads a team of more than a dozen Dallas-based technology attorneys.

Ann Marie Painter is the chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice and a veteran employment attorney, who focuses her practice on litigation, internal investigations, and employment counseling. Ann Marie defends employers against the full range of individual, collective, and class action complaints, including alleged employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims; Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state wage-and-hour violations; and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation issues. Ann Marie has experience assisting employers across the country with sensitive internal investigations related to unlawful discrimination, harassment, and whistleblowing. In addition, Ann Marie frequently represents employers seeking to enforce or defend noncompete agreements and protect against trade secret theft.

John Hardin is a veteran trial attorney with broad experience in complex commercial disputes. His experience has led clients to call him with a wide array of issues ranging from contractual disputes to product liability and a variety of other business problems. His ability to provide pragmatic advice has enabled him to handle disputes across industries and markets, including automotive, energy, fintech, healthcare, insurance recovery, oil and gas, and real estate and land use. John was recently recognized for his outstanding client service and was named to BTI Consulting’s Client Service All-Stars 2022 list. His practice is national in scope and includes administrative, arbitration, and traditional courtroom settings. He also serves as the Dallas office's hiring partner, commercial litigation lead, and liaison for the firm's Pro Bono Committee.
