Partner Britt Anderson was quoted in the Intellectual Property Magazine article, "SCOTUS Hears State Sovereign Immunity Case," regarding his takeaways from the oral arguments in Allen v. Cooper.

Britt said that copyright holders and owners facing similar issues to that of Allen "will not take any solace in this close oral argument, and should instead focus on contractual protections with state governments to govern the use of copyrighted works."

Britt added that the justices "did not seem satisfied that Congress had sufficient record at the time that the CRCA was passed to exercise its power under the 14th Amendment to abrogate state immunity."
