Overview

Intellectual property litigator Britt Anderson advocates for clients before U.S. federal courts and the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and he frequently assists his clients in developing strategies for multijurisdictional trademark enforcement, defense, and protection before trademark offices around the world. During his nearly 20 years as a business advisor to brand and IP owners on their legal strategies and enforcement programs, Britt has addressed such issues as trademark and copyright infringement triggered by online and offline activities, cybersquatting and domain name claims, rights of publicity, trade dress, three-dimensional trademarks, anonymously posted content, copyright protection for software and visual works, negotiation, sale and acquisition of trademark rights, distribution of mobile content, and privacy and online advertising issues.

Deeply interested in positioning his clients’ long-term marketing and business objectives, and with experience in a wide set of industry sectors, Britt focuses on trademark strategy for well-established startups and new U.S. market entrants, worldwide product launches, and branding for disruptive new technologies. His worldwide brand-protection programs for clients in numerous industries have extended to anti-counterfeiting and customs enforcement, programmatic policing of e-commerce sites and brick-and-mortar users, and grey market distribution issues.

Britt advocates for clients before U.S. federal courts and the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and he has long focused on the procedural requirements and strategies for multijurisdictional enforcement, defense, and protection matters before trademark offices in numerous countries.

Named a leading trademark attorney in California in the World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000 rankings, Britt is recognized for giving “business-friendly and practical advice across the trademark lifecycle.” Clients note “he is always available and can pick up important projects with very tight deadlines and deliver results. Prior to his private practice, Britt directed the international division of a leading U.S. logistics company, where he opened the company’s first European offices and managed contract negotiations and agency relationships in over 40 countries.

Britt is a leader in the International Trademark Association, where he currently is an active member of INTA’s Trademark Office Practices Committee and most recently served as the vice chair of INTA’s Government Officials Training Committee.
