Gia Velasquez works on technology, media, and intellectual property transactions across a variety of industries. Her experience includes drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses and commercial agreements, including software, data, and trademark licenses. Gia also provides counsel clients on advertisement and social media campaigns and advises clients on website terms of use, warranties, and privacy policies. In addition, she has extensive experience in the sports industry and negotiates sponsorship and talent agreements.
While earning her J.D. from Harvard Law School, Gia held several sports-related externships, including with the Major League Baseball Players Association, Concussion Legacy Foundation, and North American League of Legends Championship Series (NALCS) Players Association. She was the recipient of the 2017 Weiler Scholar Award for excellence in sports law. She also was awarded the Dean’s Scholar Prize at for her coursework in music and digital media, as well as sports and the law. As an undergraduate student at Yale, Gia was awarded the Howard Douglass Moore Award for excellence in chemistry by the Yale chemistry faculty, and she was the recipient of the George J. Schulz Price for excellence in the physical sciences.
