The Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals will host two exciting programs October 7-9, 2015 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The 3-day event will begin on Wednesday, October 7 with Essentials Express, a one-and-a-half day fundamentals course for corporate secretaries and governance professionals. The Western Regional Conference will begin with a keynote lunch on Thursday afternoon and conclude mid-afternoon on Friday, October 9.

We are very pleased to announce that Perkins Coie partner Evelyn Cruz Sroufe will moderate the panel, “Directors Speak: The Changing Dynamics of the Boardroom” on October 9th. Evelyn will be joined by panelists Bill Ayer (Honeywell), Deborah Bevier (F5 Networks) and Peter van Oppen (Level 3 Communications) who will address challenges facing corporate directors, including shareholder activism, strategic decision-making and leadership amid complex regulatory oversight, among other related topics. Evelyn will also participate as a panelist in the “Taking Minutes” panel on October 7th.

We are also pleased to announce that on October 9th, Perkins Coie partner, Sue Morgan, will participate in the panel, “Proxy Season: 2015 Review and 2016 Preview” along with representatives from Georgeson and Symantec. Panelists will provide a practical overview of the latest proxy season and public reporting developments and trends, as well as a glimpse into best practices relevant to the periodic reports and 2016 Proxy Statement disclosures.

Western Regional Conference registrants are also invited to attend a relaxed reception and dinner with colleagues and faculty at The Seattle Aquarium on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
