Partner Sarah Shtylman was quoted in "Legal Tech's Milestones for New(er) Technologies and Innovating for Good in 2022," an article on Law.com, regarding the biggest technological developments of 2022 and ways legal technology is being used to advance the greater good.

 

“2022 was a breakthrough year for blockchain. While digital assets and virtual currencies—and the companies working with them—have occupied legal and regulatory mind space on the fringes for a number of years, this year brought unprecedented levels of proposed federal legislation, congressional hearings, enforcement actions, private litigation, and agency actions involving the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). While much remains unresolved, 2022 is the year that crypto proved to legislators, regulators, and lawyers that the technology and industry are here to stay, and that we’d do well to figure out an appropriate legal landscape for crypto going forward.”
