Legaltech News: What was your “first seat at the table?”

Sam: I worked on a complex product liabilities matter that tested the bounds of my knowledge, particularly around data management and foreign language. I often dealt with imposter syndrome. I had a great mentor who let me lead and be the face of the litigation support group. Her trust and the energy she put in ‘showing me the ropes’ strengthened my confidence and comfort level. When the partner started referring to me as the ‘expert’ and calling me to discuss strategy, I felt as if I’d set myself apart as a core member of the e-discovery team.
