Partner Marc Martin was quoted in “3 Questions Surrounding State-By-State Net Neutrality,” an article in Law360,* regarding the implications of the net neutrality ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

The Ninth Circuit's net neutrality opinion won't have an automatic effect in these ongoing cases because they're happening in different appellate jurisdictions. However, open internet advocates can now point to the California ruling as strong evidence that other courts should uphold states' authority to enact net neutrality rules, said Marc.

"I don't think they'll try to argue that the courts in Vermont and New York are bound by it, but they'll say it's highly persuasive authority," he said.
