Marc Martin was quoted in the Law360* article, "Top 3 Groups Lobbying The FCC," regarding his thoughts on the Title I text classification.

"While many other industry groups expressed support for the new label as the best way to crack down on spam," Marc said "It was a bit misleading to justify the move on its consumer protection benefits alone. The FCC has also given Title II telecom providers the discretion to act against unwanted communications, rendering the regulatory label somewhat moot in this case," he said.

“The notion that this granted new authority with regard to unwanted texts is a bit of a reach,” Marc said. “What it’s really doing is giving carriers the ability to deal with this themselves …[and] entrusting private companies to do the right thing.”
