Harry Schneider was quoted in The Missoulian article, "Judge Karen Townsend Issues Final Order in Mountain Water Condemnation," regarding the ruling that the City of Missoula will pay $93.2 million to purchase Mountain Water Company.

The conclusion of the case was featured in “How a Small City Took On a Financial Giant—and Reclaimed Its Most Precious Resource,” an article published 07.05.2017 in The Nation, regarding the transition of the water rights.

The $93.2 million judgment includes the following:

  • $83.9 to Mountain Water to cover the asset, improvements to the system, and litigation expenses
  • $6.8 million to developers who had fronted money to the utility
  • $1.1 million in escrow for Carlyle's litigation expenses

"I would say that this afternoon's hearing confirms that it's still just all about the money," said Schneider, of Perkins Coie.
