DALLAS (January 24, 2023)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Jill Louis, the managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office, has been honored by the Texas Women’s Foundation as a 2023 Maura Women Helping Women Award recipient.

For 44 years, the Maura Women Helping Women Award has recognized community leaders who have led the way in improving economic and leadership opportunities for women and girls. The award is named in honor of the late Maura McNiel, founding president of the Women’s Center of Dallas and one of the founders of the Texas Women’s Foundation, who was committed to advancing women’s lives. Since 2013, the Texas Women’s Foundation has awarded over $27.6 million in grants and over $7 million in strategic grants supporting women’s economic security and leadership.

In order to be considered for the Maura Women Helping Women Award, nominees must demonstrate that they have spent an extended period of time working to help women and girls. Since returning to her hometown of Dallas in the early nineties as a young lawyer, Jill has worked extensively in the community supporting opportunities for girls in STEM careers through the Links Incorporated STEAM Programs, serving on the board of Girls Inc., providing bilingual counseling to indigent teen mothers at Parkland Hospital, and most recently working with her husband Randy Bowman in the launch of At Last!, Inc., a boarding experience for elementary school children in poverty. She also worked tirelessly in support of the history making campaign of her school mate Vice President Kamala Harris, which resulted in the first woman vice president of the United States. 

Jill Louis is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice, and co-chair of the Infrastructure Development practice. She is also the host of RelevantNOW, an environmental, social, and corporate governance-focused podcast examining the intersection of business and public interest.
