As more states legalize medical and recreational use of cannabis and, in some cases, provide protections to individuals who use cannabis, employers who chose or are required to maintain strict drug-free workplace policies face a conundrum. Can you continue to conduct drug testing and not violate state law? Do you make exceptions or accommodations for employees who can use cannabis legally under state law? What is the line to draw and where do you draw it?
