As more states legalize medical and recreational use of cannabis and, in some cases, provide protections to individuals who use cannabis, employers who chose or are required to maintain strict drug-free workplace policies face a conundrum. Can you continue to conduct drug testing and not violate state law? Do you make exceptions or accommodations for employees who can use cannabis legally under state law?
