Barak Cohen was quoted in The Hill regarding the potential prosecution of Representative Aaron Schock for public corruption. In the article, Barak Cohen, a former prosecutor for the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section, said that Schock’s case could become a criminal matter if there was a direct quid pro quo arrangement. While he said it’s relatively easy for the Justice Department to initiate an investigation, it’s much harder to for the government to prosecute such cases.
