Barak Cohen was quoted in The Pink Sheet* article, “Three-Decades Tenure but No Loyalty: Genentech Scientist Charged with Biosimilar Trade Secrets Theft,” regarding the unusual trade secrets theft case.

Barak Cohen said criminal trade secret indictments are relatively rare. "They are complicated white collar cases that can be hard for the government to prosecute. They take a lot of investigation and there are legal hurdles investigators have to clear," he said.

For example, he said they have to show the information is something someone in the field could monetize and that the entity whose trade secrets were taken had put measures in place to protect the information.
