Todd Hinnen was quoted in The Recorder article, “Google Lawyer Says New Laws Needed to Govern Cloud Data” regarding privacy and security with data stored in the cloud.

"The goal would be, I think, to have an adult conversation where all these interests are brought up in a public debate and a legislative forum and to have the country as a whole make policy choices," said Todd Hinnen, who was acting assistant attorney general for national security at the U.S. Department of Justice before becoming a partner with Perkins Coie.

"But if you're an investigator at the FBI," added Hinnen, "you want to conduct your investigation and you want to use every lawful means at your disposal to try and get the evidence that's going to solve the crime or put the bad guy in jail."
