SEATTLE (August 27, 2020) – Perkins Coie announced today that it has won the International Legal Technology Association’s (ILTA) Transformative Project of the Year Award for the firm’s work helping clients streamline matter intake and reporting for portfolio-based engagements.

The new matter intake and tracking process and portal offerings leverage existing technology solutions and were created to reduce clients’ legal costs while managing increased volumes of work. Clients have seen savings, value, and transparency resulting from the new and reengineered processes and matter intake portals, and the portfolio fee arrangement provides greater budget predictability.

“We are honored to win this important recognition from ILTA for our client portal, which we devised as an effective technology solution to help firm clients better manage their contract and vendor portfolios,” said Gwyn McAlpine, Perkins Coie’s director of knowledge management. “We are constantly seeking better ways to collaborate and offer value to diverse firm clients, and the client portal offers a proven technology solution to meet both these goals.”

Perkins Coie’s matter intake and reporting solution has also won recent recognition from the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), which named the firm and client 7-Eleven 2020 ACC Value Champions for devising and using the portal and related processes to address an exponential growth in 7-Eleven’s contract volume.

ILTA’s Transformative Project of the Year Award recognizes outstanding achievement in planning and implementing a transformative project within an ILTA member organization. The annual award also recognizes how an organization has extended its experience and knowledge to the legal community and reflected ILTA’s core values.
