WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 6, 2014) – Perkins Coie announced that Selena J. Linde, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery group, has been recognized as one of the 2014 Top 150 Women in Litigation by Benchmark Plaintiff

To compile its Top 150 Women in Litigation list, the Benchmark editorial team conducted extensive interviews with the litigators’ clients and peers.  The publication aims to celebrate the contributions made by the honored attorneys to the market and highlight the valuable work they do in the courtroom.

Linde is a nationally recognized insurance litigator whose practice focuses on representing policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes.  She currently is lead insurance coverage counsel for Residential Capital, Astellas Pharma US, NorthWestern Energy, Motors Liquidation Company DIP Lenders Trust (pre-bankruptcy General Motors), and the MYR Group among others.  Linde is a sought-after speaker and a primary author and editor of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Policyholder Primer on Insurance.  During her career she has represented dozens of Fortune 500 companies and recovered more than a billion dollars for her clients.  Linde’s recent recognitions include being honored by Business Insurance as one of 25 worldwide “Women to Watch” (2012), Benchmark Plaintiff Litigation, the Definitive Guide to America’s Leading Litigation Firms & Attorneys, as one of 11 National Litigation Insurance Stars and a “Local Litigation Star” (2012), and as a “Future Star” by Benchmark Litigation (2009-2011, 2014).  Benchmark Litigation noted that during her years of practice Linde has “established a significant mark on the insurance industry.”  In addition, earlier this year, three of Ms. Linde’s cases were profiled in Law360’s 2014 Insurance Group of the Year article on Perkins Coie.

Linde received her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A., with highest distinction, from George Mason University.  Prior to law school, Linde worked for Senator Edward Kennedy in his Judiciary Office, where she assisted with the nomination hearings of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
