SEATTLE, Wash. (March 3, 2016) - Perkins Coie is proud to announce that it has been named among the 2016 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies To Work For® for the 14th consecutive year. This year the firm ranks 37 an improvement over last year’s ranking of 46. This is our fourth consecutive year in the top 50 of the annual list, now in its 19th year.

“We are extremely honored to again be named by FORTUNE as one of the best places to work,” said John Devaney, Firmwide Managing Partner. “Having received this honor 14 times is a testament to the positive culture that our lawyers and staff have built and supported over many years. As a firm, we are fortunate to offer a workplace environment that plays a key role in our ability to attract and retain great people who share pride in the values and mission of the business and a commitment to delivering superior client service. We are grateful to FORTUNE for recognizing us among the all the outstanding organizations on the list.”

Perkins Coie has been recognized for excellence and innovation in the legal industry and is frequently honored for its commitment to fostering a culture where all employees have the opportunity to grow and thrive. In addition to its recognition by FORTUNE, the firm has been listed in Working Mother Media/Flex-Time Lawyers LLC’s “Best Law Firms for Women” seven times. The firm has also earned the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s top rating of 100 percent in the Corporate Equality Index (a national benchmarking survey on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality) eight years in a row.

To identify the “100 Best Companies to Work For®,” FORTUNE partnered with Great Place to Work® to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to attitudes about management’s credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The remaining third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts. Any company that is at least seven years old with more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible to participate.

The full list and any related stories appear in the issue of FORTUNE magazine on newsstands on March 7, 2016 and at http://fortune.com/best-companies and www.greatplacetowork.com.
