Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm has awarded a scholarship to a student attending the KoGuan School of Law at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China for the 2018-2019 school year. This is the first time the firm has awarded a scholarship in China. Scholarship recipients are chosen by the university and must be currently enrolled in the KoGuan Law School as an intellectual property law major. The scholarship is gifted each year to a student facing financial difficulty with a strong desire to continue his or her education in the legal field.

Perkins Coie is committed to supporting exemplary law students from all income levels and will participate in this scholarship for a second year in the 2019-2020 school year.

“We are pleased to offer our first scholarship to KoGuan School of Law,” said Geoffrey Vance. “We want to demonstrate our strong commitment to the China market and to ensuring a continued pipeline of talented legal professionals.”

KoGuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of China's leading law schools. Among China's largest and oldest law schools, KoGuan Law is located on the Xuhui campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The KoGuan Intellectual Property Law Center, founded in 2004, carries out inter-disciplinary studies on questions related to the area of high-tech intellectual property rights protection.
