Partner Todd Hinnen was quoted in the Law360 article, “Feds Rip Google's $10K-A-Day Offer For Contempt Sanctions,” regarding Google’s offer to pay $10,000 per day if the appeal to the Ninth Circuit fails.

Google’s attorney Todd M. Hinnen agreed, but said Judge Seeborg’s ruling should be reconciled with the Microsoft case, and that there was a “the Ninth Circuit rule on the issue."

“More than 50 percent of the country’s service providers are here. It’s probably the most significant circuit in the country,” he said. “There’s a strong public interest in this issue being decided in the appellate court here. It’s possible that the Supreme Court won’t address all the issues in this case.”

Hinnen also balked at the government’s characterization of his client, saying, “Google has acted in good faith to try and find solutions during a time when there’s tremendous uncertainty in the law.”
