Speaking Engagements

AUVSI’s Xponential / Denver, CO

The ocean covers more than seventy percent of our planet’s surface, yet much of it is unexplored. Autonomous technology is pushing into this “new frontier” and developing at a breakneck speed. Over the next decade, sea-based autonomous technologies will transform the defense industry, the shipping and transportation industry, and the marine monitoring industry, to name just a few. As the technology evolves, the current domestic and international legal framework that applies to more traditional ships may struggle to keep up. The panel will discuss the future of sea-based autonomous technologies, including where the industry currently stands and where it is likely to go over the next five or ten years. The panel will also discuss how manufacturers and end users of these technologies can navigate potential liability and regulatory risks.
