Partner Margaret Meyers was quoted in the Private Equity Law Report* article, “Electronic Communications: Current Technological Landscape and Relevant Regulatory Measures (Part One of Three)” regarding concerns by the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) about electronic communications.

“Looking at recent enforcement actions, and the fact that non-email electronic messages are requested as a matter of course now, it is only a matter of time before we see more and more of the same from regulators,” predicted Norton Rose Fulbright partner Celia Cohen. “As many financial services employees have been working from home during the pandemic, we may see more investigations focusing on how employees used and retained electronic communications during that time,” agreed Margaret.
