Partner Margaret Meyers was quoted in the Private Equity Law Report* article, “Electronic Communications: Useful Training Techniques and Policies and Procedures to Adopt (Part Two of Three),” regarding the policies and procedures private equity firms should enact to curb harmful electronic communications practices by their employees, as well as how to train staff on those policies.

The recommendations in the December 2018 risk alert issued by the SEC’s Division of Examinations are still very applicable to firms reviewing their policies and procedures surrounding electronic business communications, observed Perkins Coie partner Margaret Meyers. “Those recommendations are a baseline to start from, but firms need to regularly review and update their policies because technology is constantly evolving.”
