Seminars

Perkins Coie's Seattle Office

Although corporate litigation has always been a cost of doing business, in a tough economy, it can be crippling. A firm's ability to avoid litigation, and, if it comes, to resolve it quickly and cost-effectively often turns on a combination of strategic and administrative decisions the firm makes long before litigation breaks out. These include decisions about the manner in which the firm addresses customer complaints, selects and manages outside litigation counsel, obtains insurance coverage and maintains electronic records. This seminar was intended to provide practical ideas on litigation management and risk avoidance to company attorneys responsible for managing litigation, regardless of whether they are experienced litigators themselves or of the size of their companies. Attendees heard from experienced in-house and outside counsel on how pre-litigation decisions can save – or cost – a company millions.
