Partner Joe Cutler was quoted in the June 30, 2020, Yakima Herald in response to Joseph’s letter to Selah Chief of Police Richard Hayes warning that the city’s action to remove chalk art representing Black Lives Matter was illegal.

“Targeting minorities for selective law enforcement and quelling constitutionally protected speech under the color of law is illegal,” Joe wrote, referencing a letter Hayes wrote to Alejandro Fabian on June 8, 2020, warning them that the Black Lives Matter chalk art in the street in front of their home constituted illegal graffiti.
