BU-ISE/ITIF/Fraunhofer CMI Workshop

Brian Sylvester participated in a workshop for The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the Boston University Institute for Sustainable Energy (BU-ISE) and the Fraunhofer USA Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI) on "Biomanufacturing opportunities to cut agricultural GHG emissions." The workshop focused on barriers that limit biomanufacturing’s contributions to climate change mitigation, promising opportunities to reduce GHG through biomanufacturing, federal RD&D investments, federal RD&D strategy, and a plausible range of emissions reductions that could be achieved by 2050. His presentation focused on regulatory barriers and developments companies in this sector must navigate from an FDA and USDA perspective.
