Counsel Andrew Klein was quoted in “Courts Could Throw State Marijuana Markets Into Disarray,” an article in Politico,* regarding a federal court decision that could open the floodgates to interstate marijuana commerce, upending state markets that have long operated in their own silos.

 

“Consumer safety is in jeopardy if [those rules] are struck down,” said Andrew, senior counsel at Perkins Coie and a former policy director for the National Cannabis Industry Association. “That’s not good for consumers. I don’t think businesses want that either.”

“As hard as it is to comply with 38 different state rules, at least you know what the rules are,” said Andrew. “If we start unwinding them and there’s uncertainty in the marketplace, that’s not good for business either.”
