SEATTLE and WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 18, 2023)Perkins Coie is pleased to have represented Microsoft Corporation in negotiating the global technology company’s first U.S. co-branded credit card for the popular Xbox gaming brand.

Xbox has introduced a no annual fee Xbox Mastercard, issued by Barclays, which allows cardmembers to earn card points with everyday purchases and redeem the points on games and add-ons at xbox.com. For more information, please see Xbox’s announcement here.

The Perkins Coie advisory team was led by payments and fintech partner Sam Boro and included partners Sarah Shtylman and Adrienne Ehrhardt, as well as associates Ross Handler and Sam Klein.

The firm’s legal team provided a range of complex legal counsel to Microsoft in support of the agreement, including product counseling and transactional drafting and negotiating.
