Tyler Bowen, firmwide co-chair of the Patent Litigation practice, focuses on patent and intellectual property litigation for technology companies. He has extensive experience representing clients in inter partes review proceedings before the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), including serving as lead or backup counsel in over 30 IPRs. Tyler has represented petitioner and patent owner in at least a dozen IPRs for each party.
In addition, Tyler regularly works on significant patent infringement cases, advising both plaintiffs and defendants in federal courts throughout the United States. His experience includes handling issues relating to document discovery, claim construction, invalidity, noninfringement, damages, summary judgement and deposition practice. He is skilled in counseling clients on e-discovery issues concerning the collection, processing, review and production of large volumes of documents.
Tyler advises on IPR proceedings and patent infringement litigation relating to a variety of subject matters, including semiconductors, mobile telecommunications, cybersecurity, biotechnology and medical devices.

Motions to amend have been part of America Invents Act trials since their inception. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office solicited public input on the motion to amend process, which was followed by a study by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
