Overview

Jim Davis’ experience includes more than 25 years of assisting clients with global trademark portfolio management, online and domain name enforcement, and anticounterfeiting efforts. He has handled more than 500 Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) filings and represented clients in numerous U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings and lawsuits.

Jim advises clients and manages their global trademark portfolios, which comprise thousands of marks spanning diverse industries including social media, ecommerce, software, industrial tools, household hardware, and security. His practice includes drafting intellectual property (IP) licensing agreements and assisting clients in selecting, registering, and protecting marks. He also counsels clients in various areas of trademark, copyright, advertising, and unfair competition law.

Jim is listed consistently in the annual World Trademark Review 1000 rankings. The publication has described him as "a potent weapon in the fight against counterfeiters," and notes that he "boasts a sophisticated understanding of all things Internet."

Jim has served on the Council for the American Bar Association, Intellectual Property Law Section (ABA IPL), and is a former chair and special advisor to the ABA IPL Section’s Division II—Trademarks and Unfair Competition.

An active member of his community, Jim coaches recreation-league basketball teams, volunteers with the Arlington Food Assistance Center, and has served as vice president of the board of directors of a local swim club.

Prior to attending law school, Jim earned an MBA and worked as a financial analyst.
