Christopher Wieman Counsel

Christopher Wieman focuses on technology transactions and privacy law. He regularly drafts and negotiates contracts as well as multiple-party and nontraditional licensing agreements for clients in the technology, food and beverage, gaming and artificial intelligence (AI) industries. Christopher has specific experience with software licensing, cloud computing software licensing, professional services agreements, consulting services agreements and collaborative consulting agreements. His privacy and data security experience includes helping businesses draft privacy policies and data security addenda to ensure compliance with various state and federal privacy laws.

Christopher supports merger and acquisition transactions as well, with a focus on intellectual property terms and issues. He has also managed due diligence and reviewed purchase and sale agreements. In addition, Christopher’s background includes interning at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority while in law school.

Maintaining an active pro bono practice, Christopher is currently working with several Illinois-based organizations in their effort to create an app to provide legal information and assistance when they have a rental or land lord issue. Prior to moving to Chicago, Christopher worked with Seafair, a nonprofit festival in Seattle, on their contracts, sponsorship agreements and employment documents, and he helped a legal service entity in rural Washington apply for 501(c)(3) status.
