Partner Marc Martin was quoted in “Is Telehealth the Next Frontier for Net Neutrality Action?” an article in Law360*, regarding recent controversy over whether California's net neutrality law will block consumer access.
"This is catnip for critics of net neutrality," Marc said. "This was [presented as] a drama when, in fact, that's been no activity here. ... There is no enforcement action being brought by the state of California. I don't think there will be."
Instead, the issue highlights the role that data-capped mobile plans play in forcing some consumers to ration or forego internet usage because they can't afford more data, he said.
"The problem often is, unlimited plans are too expensive, which is why Congress has been trying to address that with subsidies," Marc noted.
