Partner Kirk Soderquist was quoted in “Adoption of VR in the Workplace Expected to Accelerate as Pandemic Wears On,” an article in Puget Sound Business Journal,* regarding the use of technology in a hybrid work environment.

Technology industry leaders are increasingly optimistic about the prospects for immersive technology, according to a recent survey by the Seattle law firm Perkins Coie and the XR Association, a Washington, D.C.-based industry group.

Perkins Coie fully expects itself to lean into hybrid work going forward. Kirk Soderquist, firmwide co-chair of Perkins Coie's interactive entertainment practice, said the flexibility allowed to employees over the pandemic has been too successful to warrant a full return to the office.

"We have become even more accustomed to working with technology that facilitates working from outside the office," he said. "Technologies like Facebook's Horizon Workrooms that enable folks to collaborate in virtual space using white boards, chat functionality, spatial audio, avatars, etc., will be instrumental in making the hybrid work environment more akin to being in person."
