SEATTLE, Wash (January 16, 2014) - Perkins Coie is proud to announce that it has been named as one of the 2014 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For®.  This is the 12th year the firm has achieved this honor.  This year the firm was ranked 41 and was one of only 6 law firms to make the annual list, now in its 17th year.

“Perkins Coie has had a culture of inclusion throughout our history which has made it a welcoming place to work,” said Robert Giles, Firmwide Managing Partner.  “We promote and are committed to an environment that emphasizes teamwork and valuing the contributions of every member of our firm.  That strong and dedicated work force has allowed us to provide exceptional client service for more than 100 years.  We are delighted to be honored by FORTUNE for the 12th year in a row.”

Perkins Coie has been recognized for excellence and innovation in the legal industry and is frequently honored for its commitment to providing a workplace where all employees have the opportunity to grow and thrive.  Perkins Coie has received a Gold Standard Certification from The Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the past two years.  The firm has also been listed on Working Mother Media/Flex-Time Lawyers LLC’s “Best Law Firms for Women” five times and has been named to the Yale Law Women’s “Top Ten Family Friendly Firms” list for the last five years.  The firm has also earned the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s top rating of 100 percent in the Corporate Equality Index for six years in a row.

To identify the “100 Best Companies to Work For®,” FORTUNE partnered with Great Place to Work® to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America.  Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company.  The survey asks questions related to attitudes about management’s credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie.  The remaining third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.  Any company that is at least seven years old with more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible to participate.

The full list and any related stories appear in the issue of FORTUNE magazine dated February 4 on newsstands on Monday, January 20 and at www.fortune.com/bestcompanieswww.money.cnn.com and www.greatplacetowork.com
